Description
This small pier cabinet combines ebonized banding with warm satinwood marquetry inlay, its tapering form
and marble top giving it an architectural, refined presence suited to a narrow wall or pier space. The frieze is
inlaid with a scrolling floral marquetry band in golden satinwood against the dark ebonized ground, echoed
in a vertical floral inlay running down the door stile.
The single glazed door is trimmed with gilt bronze corner mounts and opens to reveal a fabric-lined interior
with adjustable shelving, ideal for displaying small porcelain, glass, or curio items. The case is raised on
gently splayed legs, its overall tapered silhouette and mixed light-and-dark wood treatment reflecting the
refined taste of French Louis XVI-influenced case furniture.
Compact yet richly detailed, this cabinet would suit a hallway, narrow wall space, or as a display piece
flanking a fireplace or larger cabinet.
